Compliance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

The Yoto website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA and standard EN301.549 where it builds on the WCAG. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Non-Accessible Content

Some parts of the website and the Yoto app are not fully accessible, including:

  • Some pages and documents are not written in plain language
  • Some features have poor colour contrast
  • Some heading elements are inconsistent
  • Some images lack descriptions
  • Some images used for information have poor colour contrast
  • Some table data is not accessible via keyboard
  • Some documents are only available in PDF format
  • Some features rely on third-party services
  • Player setup, playlist sharing, and the newsfeed in the app are not fully optimized for screen readers

We are actively working on these areas to improve accessibility for all users.
